Upcoming LENA Start! at Horizon Family Development Centre

May 19 – July 21 2026 (Tuesdays); 9:30am – 11:30am 

Calling all parents and caregivers of children aged 2 months – 32 months! LENA Start classes can help make a difference in your baby’s life just through early talk and interaction!

*This class is in-person, in an Adult-Only classroom setting, at our Horizon Family Centre. There is NO childcare available for these sessions, please use natural supports for childcare if you are able.*

Join our facilitators over the course of 10 weeks to discuss research-based strategies and receive actionable feedback to help increase conversational engagement with children. Using interactive talk – specifically back-and-forth conversation – has been shown to be a key factor in early brain development and the building of relationships.

This program focuses on how parents and caregivers can increase talk with their children through exploring topics such as: talking about food, songs and rhymes, math talk, being out and about, and how talk impacts early brain development. Parents even use a “talk pedometer” and receive a report on their weekly progress!

LENA Start families receive 10 free children’s books!
