Families Matter offers four streams of Peer Volunteer opportunities – Perinatal Mental Health, Black Canadian Perinatal Mental Health, Infant Respite and Papa Bears programming. These roles require a one-year commitment to the agency and lived experience relevant to the population that the stream is serving.
We strengthen families through life's transitions. Our volunteers are essential to our achievement of this mission.
As a Families Matter volunteer you will:
- Join Families Matter staff in making a difference in the lives of a family.
- Extend our ability to serve families.
- Develop new skills, practice existing skills and gain professional experience.
- Receive regular training, supervision, and recognition.

- All applicants must complete an application and screening process, and receive training for their position.

Families Matter Kits For A Cause Program
Looking for an engaging corporate/group volunteering or team building activity? Why not make a difference through our Families Matter Kits for A Cause Program. Help assemble “care kits” for individuals in need. This program was developed specifically to accommodate groups of all sizes, whether you’re volunteering with friends, family, colleagues, or on your own, from groups of 3 to 10,000, your contribution directly impacts our community.
