The days are getting shorter and chillier.

Please see the below reminders and tips to help keep our Families Matter Community safe and healthy all year long.

These guidelines and suggestions should be considered for participating in any of our in-person Parenting Classes, Parent and Child Together Programming, Youth Programming, Support Groups or Home Visitation Sessions.

Thank you for helping keep everyone healthy this cold and flu season.

Text: Runny Nose: We understand that children may have a runny nose from time to time, especially during the colder months. If your child only has a runny nose without other symptoms, they are welcome to attend the centre. Cough: If your child develops a new or worsening cough, we kindly request that you keep them at home. This precaution helps prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses among our little ones. Fever: Children with a fever should stay home to recover and avoid spreading illness to others. We recommend that you keep them at home until they have been fever-free (without the use of fever-reducing medication) for at least 24 hours. Other Communicable Illnesses: If your child has been diagnosed with a communicable illness such as hand, foot, and mouth disease, strep throat, pink eye, or another contagious condition, please keep them at home and inform us as soon as possible. This will help us take the necessary precautions to prevent further spread. Handwashing: To keep our centre safe and healthy, we encourage everyone to practice frequent handwashing. Proper hand hygiene is one of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs. Please remind your child about the importance of washing their hands regularly, especially after coughing, sneezing, or using the restroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our staff. We are here to support you and answer any questions you may have.
