Small Magnets, Big Impact: Connecting Families Across Calgary
Sometimes, helping a family find support starts with something simple: making sure they know where to look.
That’s the idea behind Where Families Matter, a community campaign designed to get Families Matter magnets moving throughout Calgary and help more families discover the programs, resources and support available to them.
You might spot one at a local business, in a community space or somewhere completely unexpected. Wherever it turns up, each magnet has the same purpose: to help more people discover Families Matter.
Support Starts With Knowing Where to Find It
Raising a family comes with plenty of questions, changes and challenges. Sometimes parents are looking for practical information. Sometimes they want an activity to enjoy with their children, a chance to connect with other families or some extra support along the way.
But finding the right resource isn’t always easy, especially if you don’t know it exists.
Families Matter offers programs, resources and supportive spaces where families can learn, play, connect and grow. Whether you’re looking for parenting support, community connections, family activities or simply a place where you and your family feel you belong, knowing where to start can make all the difference.
Our work is rooted in a simple belief: raising a family takes a village, and every family should know where to find theirs. The Where Families Matter campaign is one more way to help make those connections possible.
Why Magnets?
Every new place a magnet travels creates another opportunity for someone to discover Families Matter.
A family might notice one for the first time. A local business might introduce Families Matter to its customers. Someone might pass one to a friend who has been looking for family programs, resources or support in Calgary.
As the magnets move through the city, the campaign can reach people who may not already know Families Matter.
One connection creates the possibility for another.
How to Play
Getting involved is easy. Pick up a Families Matter magnet and help us get it moving across Calgary.

Pick up a Families Matter magnet.
2. Stick It
Put it somewhere you love, somewhere you spend time or somewhere unexpected.
3. Snap It
Take a photo or video of your magnet in its new location.
4. Share It
Share it to your Instagram or Facebook Story and tag Families Matter.
5. Enter to Win
Every Story you share and tag Families Matter in counts as one raffle entry.
6. Pass It On
Give your magnet to another family, business or community member and keep it moving.
